Always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship between people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Honesty plays a pivotal role in any human interactions. Many are of the perception that being truthful all the time is the single major determinant of a great relation. Although it is not always rational to tell the truth, I contend that honesty is the key to any trustworthy engagements.
People who are concern on the practical challenges in being always truthful argues on the importance to judge its potential impact on the listener. They suggest considering their physical and emotional state as the biggest priority. Rather than saying something just because it is true, one should acknowledge that there are truths that everyone does not find good and so should modulate its delivery accordingly. For instance, we may find it difficult to tell a mother who has heart ailment on the demise of her son at a distant place and might cover it up until she is physically fit to accept it.
Nonetheless, it is undeniably a fact that everyone accepts and likes those who speak the truth in any circumstance. Not only does such people build rapport with others but also makes the other person reciprocate the same leading to more meaningful communications. Moreover, honest people prove to be trustworthy by making people comfortable talking about matters that they would not have shared. For example, in a married relationship, if the wife finds out that her man has lied to her, he will lose her trust which may seriously affect their future relation in a negative way.
In conclusion, it is often believed by many that the most of attention is to be given to honesty in any relation. In my perspective, despite some marginal concerns in being always truthful, I believe that it is the most significant pillar of human relationships.
