In many nations, it is common for people to draw graffiti on walls to depict their views and emotions. Many are of the perception that cities should allocate spaces for graffiti although others contend that they should be prohibited. Both views have legitimate arguments, in my opinion, graffiti should be encouraged for its artistic values but with certain restrictions.
People who suggest reserved places for graffiti emphasize the necessity to recognize and display its creativity. Cities should, therefore, provide avenues for the skill enhancements in graffiti by constructing new spaces or renovating older ones. Not only this would transform the appearance of the city but also attract visitors to these places. This is particularly true given that in some countries, graffiti is drawn on old buildings such as abandoned factories where these have become a central attraction of the city.
Nonetheless, many people who argue graffiti to be prohibited point to its serious social and environmental implications.
